We do not expect the government of Ontario to launch another round of the FIT program as the incentives have now reached grid parity, and we actually expect them to cancel projects because those projects had investors who agreed to sell the energy at prices below the cost of energy from the grid and that just doesn’t make for a good investment (sure a few years ago when grid prices were lower and the incentive rates were higher than the grid, but not now!). It simply makes more sense to use the energy now generated rather than sell to the government on a reduced rate Feed-in-tariff program. Look for a new net-metering program in the near future, but contact us first because our solutions will pay you more than any net metering program could pay!
